- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪After over 2hrs wait, got to see a nurse who AFTER examining my throat asked if I still had my tonsils! Was also asked to provide a urine sample by Triage nurse but when I saw Nurse Prescriber, she asked why I had produced one! Staff polite and courteous but unfortunately prescribng policies are clearly driven by cost and 'extended roles' limit ability to prescribe. I will end up at GP on Monday, I know the pattern of tonsillitis/sinusitis after 30 years personal experience. Complete waste of time - not a confidence inspiring service at all- I would have thought any Clinician could spot tonsils. *24 hours later I had to visit GP out of hours, in a lot of discomfort, and, in under one minute, was diagnosed with tonsillitis and prescribed Penicillin.by alison pritchardJuly 22, 2017
